Works for the most part overall apart from some minor annoyances. 1)No back button to exit video playing interface. VLC has been a very good app for me so far, the only problem was the lack of subtitle options and even if subtitles were provided, there has always been a problem trying to download them. I tried updating the app thinking it could solve the subtitle problem, only for it to get worse. The app wasn't respond anymore; it kept closing whenever I tried to open it. the recent version upgrades has totally ruin this app especilly for the smart TV users. I have been using it on my TV for many long time in 2022 enjoyed movies via mibox along with 5.1 surrounds. Now neither it supports 5.1 (with MKV/AC3) and often Sound gets out of sync. browsing on LAN (at Windows) is no more working. And I am afraid 4-6 months back people have been reporting all of this on VLC fourms as well but until now nothing has been done. I wish somehow I can find the old version!!!2025-05-18 20:17:16

Still operational & useful, but this last update took away the ability to fast forward, turn up/down the brightness and volume with finger or knuckle (important when cooking and sticky fingers). Please restore at your next update. Thank you. Cannot play as audio only at night for bed (resting screen) anymore. I've been using VLC for years on various platforms, unfortunately on my Samsung S7 the sound quality playing music is poor with distortions, popping and crackling sounds that happen sporadically. I've tried changing headphones and mobile phone to a Samsung S9+, exactly the same issues again when using VLC android. I've switched over to another android mp3 and audio player and the problems are non existent!
