Excellently written and very immersive. Characterization and world building are masterfully executed, and the social commentary on racism/classism is elegant. It makes the issues clear without being overbearing, and makes dealing with internal stigmas a compelling plot point. However, character development feels somewhat un-interactive. Fish scene. I picked "option" 3, thinking the mc would look for something else to eat instead of poaching a koi. I ended up with a condescending author's note assuming why I chose 3. It basically said if I didn't like the first two "options" of kill the koi then I should gtfo. So I continued on, choosing to stab the koi for a pointlessly drawn out death scene.
